December is Here!!!

Everyone, be happy because December is here. The season where a whole bunch of festivities occur. Christmas, New Years Eve, and those others that I can't remember (Sorry!). Anyways, now that Thanksgiving is over, I'm back to posting on this forsaken blog. I'll continue posting my pointless topics once every two days. Bye!

Happy Thanksgiving!

This may be a bit early, but I'm just going to say Happy Thanksgiving to all the people in the U.S. now. I hope that all you americans out there have a great time with your families, and make sure that you give your thanks to all those people that helped you. Have fun eating roast turkeys and pumpkin pies over this long weekend. Now, if you'll forgive me (not that anyone reads this anyways), I will not be posting anything for the entirety of Thanksgiving (Nov. 26- Nov.30). Even I have to take a break.

Slackers in a Working Colony

As some of you may already know, 10% of an ant colony will always be slackers, and if you kill off those slackers, 10% of the remaining workers will become slackers. But what if you add in new slackers? The old slackers become the most efficient workers. I believe this works with humans as well. Why do I think so? Because I have experienced it first-hand. I was in a class with 30 people. 3 of the people were slackers. We were all at the bottom of the class, nearly never getting any work done. After we graduated from that school at the bottom of the class, we attended the next level of school. At this next stage, there were new slackers already there, and every single one of us slackers became extremely good at school.
All you have to do to be good at school, is be able to slack for the first 5-6 years of your education, and then suddenly stop being a slacker. How hard is this? Probably nearly impossible, but if I could do it, then you can probably do it as well... maybe.

Skype Calls

Skype Calls can go on for ever. If you start a skype call, and continue it for over 4 hours. You officially have no life. End of Story.

Internal Conflict in Story Writing

Internal Conflict is something that makes a story interesting, like the death of a family member, or the main character just doesn't want to do something. This is usually a big part of the story, but when done wrong, I find that it is a huge demerit to the story itself.

J*gJ*urn*l

My school has this publication thing, and I published something in it. It's about the ACT versus the SAT, and which one you should look towards taking. I'm pretty sure you can find a better article online, though.
I don't know why, but I feel like c*nsoring stuff right now.

Japan

The Japanese always come up with the strangest, yet most amazing ideas. Most of Japan's games are peculiar, and it seems that their comedy is considered fascinating to some Americans.

Inspiration

I believe inspiration comes in many bursts and waves, and that anybody who can utilize one of these bursts/waves can create something that they're proud of.
Sorry for the Random Topic again!

Professors

I just learned of this, but it seems that most university professors don't major in education. I kind of want to know what university life is like. If anyone out there knows, can you please tell me, Thanks!

Wasting Time

I don't know why, but on Sundays, I keep just wasting time for the whole day, and get nothing done. I need to shape up my act, or else I'll never get anything done. Procrastination seems to be my thing.

ACT

ACT tests are hard, tedious, and long, but if you get a good mark on them, you should be able to get into the college you want to enter, you might even get a scholarship, so don't be diminished by the difficulty and try hard on the practice and the real tests.

Another short blurb -- Nothing to do with NaNoWriMo

It was another halloween; the kids coming for candy, the TV in the background, all the kids going home - it was the exact same as last year. I was tired from passing out candy, heading back to my room to rest up for tomorrow, I walked up the stairs one at a time, a bit creeped out by the dark and quiet atmosphere around me. This environment, every year it was the same. I reached the top of the 14 stair staircase, looking down, I was pretty high up. The door to my room was just in front of me, and I slowly opened the door, half-expected some kind of demon or ghost to come out and scare me. When I walked into the room, I saw that there was some kind of light in the corner. I thought I knew what this light was, but I couldn’t place a finger on it. Finally fully opening the door, I raised my hand up to the light switch, and finally, when I turned on the lights, I was surprised. It was my computer, and it was playing a music video from youtube.

Short Blurb from NaNoWriMo

“The Game” has started, making the unexplainable happen. Time has stopped; relationships destroyed; existences lost; nothing had any meaning in front of the possibility of victory; the chance to gain anything you want, and everything you want. The dead can be revived, universes can be created, civilizations annihilated. Love, hate, peace, these words have no meaning in front of infinite power. This infinite loop; the creation and destruction. Finally, those who challenge it appear.

This is a really short blurb from my NaNoWriMo Story. Please give it a read if you have time.

NaNoWriMo

The month of November seems to be the National Novel Writing Month. This is the month in which people write books with specific word counts, and if they are able to get to the word count specified (50, 000), then they will get their book published by NaNoWriMo. At least, that's what I think it was. Anyways, if you love writing, then you should give it a shot.

Info is at: NaNoWriMo

Monday

Monday is the day where everyone is tired, whether it's because school starts again or work starts again, humans of this generation are always tired on Monday. I think that this is because, in our brains, it has already subconsciously linked Monday to something that we don't like: school or work. This is why those people who love Mondays probably like school and/or work.

Take a Break

Studying and working is important and all, but you still need to take a break every week, and that's what the weekend is for. So, take a break on Sunday and just do whatever you want to do, because Sunday's the day for that.

Cookie Clicker

I started playing cookie clicker in August, and now I just leave it running in the background without doing anything. I feel that it's a huge waste of time, but I just can't seem to get myself to close it. I suggest this to people who might want to get a feeling of accomplishment by seeing cookies roll in by the billions and trillions.

Wave of Sleepiness

I was hit by the wave of sleepiness. It was a hit and run, when I got home, I just fell asleep after sitting on my bed, and I slept like that for 2 hours. Kinda sad, cause I got nothing done during that period of time. If only I had more time to do more stuff.

Oh, just as a footnote, on this blog I will dabble with a whole bunch of subject matters, and I may have something you don't like, but please don't hate me as a result, cause it's all just opinions.

Disappointment is the name of the Game

Have you ever had one of those moments where you think you just made this huge discovery, and it ends up being something that you learnt a long time ago, or something just like it? Well, that's what just happened to me. I thought I had something new and exciting, when it ended up being something I learned in class the other day. I found a pattern in exponents where the x^2 is equal to 2(x-1)+1, so the difference between two squared numbers would be 2 greater than the number before (ex. 0^2+1=1^2, 1^2+3= 2^2, 2^2+5=3^2, this actually works). After looking at it for a while, I figured out that this was just doing (x+1)^2, and I felt really embarrassed and sad when I found this out. But in the end, it was a great learning experience, and I gained a better understanding of math. If anything like this ever happens to you, you shouldn't be embarrassed or sad, because it happens to everyone, and you should learn from your mistakes.
